        Difference Between intel i3 , i5 and i7 Processors

        Wednesday, 14 December 2011 1 comments

Well Thats Been always the Most Searched Topic on Google Since the Launch of i3 , I5 and i7 Processors in 2009 . Many Websites Are Explaining the Difference Between These Processing Giants But Still Most of The people Dont Exactly know the Differnce Very Well .
This Might Be Because all the Three Processors are Differentiated by Their Clock Speeds , Frequencies , Running Capabilities Etc Which are only Better Understood by Techies and geeks .
We Would Like to Share the Same Difference in a Little easy and Comprehensive Way So that You better know Whats the Real reason for You to choose a Particular Processor.

Before really Starting we Would Like to Introduce Some useful Definations :-

        1. HYPERTHREADING :- Hyper-threading (officially Hyper-Threading Technology, and abbreviated HT Technology, HTT or HT) is Intel's term for its simultaneous multithreading implementation in its Atom, Intel Core i3/i5/i7, Itanium, Pentium 4 and Xeon CPUs.
Hyper-threading is an Intel-proprietary technology used to improve parallelization of computations (doing multiple tasks at once) performed on PC microprocessors

        2. Clock Speed :- The clock speed of a CPU is defined as the frequency that a processor executes instructions or that data is processed. This clock speed is measured in millions of cycles per second or megahertz (MHz). The clock itself is actually a quartz crystal that vibrates at a certain frequency when electricity is passed through it. Each vibration sends out a pulse or beat, like a metronome, to each component that's synchronized with it.

        3. CPU CACHE :- A CPU cache is a cache used by the central processing unit of a computer to reduce the average time to access memory. The cache is a smaller, faster memory which stores copies of the data from the most frequently used main memory locations. As long as most memory accesses are cached memory locations, the average latency of memory accesses will be closer to the cache latency than to the latency of main memory.

Now Lets Start with The Actual Difference Between all the Three Processors :-
Their relative levels of processing power are also signified by their Intel Processor Star Ratings, which are based on a collection of criteria involving their number of cores, clockspeed (in GHz), size of cache, as well as some new Intel technologies like Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading.

Core i3s are rated with three stars, i5s have four stars, and i7s have five. If you’re wondering why the ratings start with three, well they actually don’t. The entry-level Intel CPUs — Celeron and Pentium — get one and two stars respectively.
        Intel i3 Processor :-
Uses 4 threads. Yes, it uses hyperthreading technology which is the latest craze due to its improved efficiency over earlier processors that were put on the market.
This processor consists of 2 cores(Some New Editons may have More)
        Contains A 3-4 MB Cache
Uses less heat and energy than earlier processors, which is always a good thing in this day and age.
        Intel i5 Processor :-
This is the mid-size processor of this bunch, recommended for those who demand a little speed, but not quite enough where the user will be running resource-intensive applications.
This comes with 2-4 cores(mostly Quad Core), the main difference is that it has a higher clock speed than the Core i3.
This is also a heat and energy efficient processor, but it does seem to be better at this particular job than the Core i3 processor.
The number of threads used in this is no different than the Core i3 with 2-4 threads, and it also uses hyperthreading technology for a boost in performance.
The cache of the Core i5 is bigger than the Core i3, it’s at 3-8 MB.
The Core i5 is where the turbo mode is made available, this provides users with the opportunity to turn off a core if it’s not being utilized.
        Intel i7 Processor:-
This is for the users that demand power, yes it does provide more power and if Tim Allen gets one of these, this would be the beast that he gets his hands on. Great for gamers and other resource intensive users.
The cache on this one is 4-8 MB.
This processor comes with 8 threads, definitely enough to get the job done quickly, maybe even at the speed of light if you’re lucky. And yes it also utilizes hyperthreading technology.
You will have four cores to take advantage of with this particular series.
And just like the other ones in this Intel series of processors, it is more energy efficient and produces less heat.

How To Enable Facebook Timeline Right This Second

Do you know what is Facebook Timeline? How to activate Facebook Timeline in your profile? Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a complete reconceptualization of profile pages on the popular social network with the introduction of Timeline. As Zuckerberg puts it, Timeline is the story of your life. Still it is for developer only , so you have to be developer to enable this feature for your profile.

        Here’s how to do it:
        1. Log into Facebook
        2. Visit the https://developers.facebook.com/apps and enable it for your account.
        3. Click on "Create New App"

        4. A pop up will open for your permission , click on "Allow"

Create a new app (don’t worry — you wont actually be submitting this for anyone else to see/use). Give your shiny new app any display name and namespace you see fit. Read through and agree to the Platform Privacy agreement. This is the step you need to be verified for.

        5. Ensure you’re in your new app’s main settings screen. You should see your app’s name near the top of the page

        6. Look for the “Open Graph” header, and click the “Get Started using open graph” link.

Create a test action for your app, like “read” a “book”, or “eat” a “sandwich”

        7. This should drop you into an action type configuration page. Change a few of the default settings (I changed the past tense of “read” to “redd” — again, only you can see this unless you try and submit your application to the public directory), and click through all three pages of settings

        8. Wait 2-3 minutes

        9. Go back to your Facebook homescreen. An invite to try Timeline should be waiting at the top of the page

And you’re done! We’ve seen this work quite a few times now, so it should work without a hitch for just about anyone.

Things you should never do on facebook.

        1) DO NOT use a weak password

Given the wealth of information about you on facebook, there’s no reason not to use a strong password with a mix of capital letters and numbers.
        2) DO NOT add people you don’t even know

It’s one thing to add an old friend and then never speak to them. It’s another to add anyone whose name you kind of vaguely sort of recognize. It’s like that old man in the pub who slaps everyone on the back as if they were old pals, when in actual fact he has no friends, largely because of this habit.
        3) DO NOT accept friend invitations from people you don’t know

It’s one thing to complain about irritating people adding you on Facebook, but if you accept those invites, you’ve only got yourself to blame. If you scan through your Facebook friends list, you’ll doubtless find a handful of people in there you barely know. It’s a horrible realization – like when you suddenly realize your hand is resting on a knob of someone else’s chewing gum underneath a desk.
        4) DO NOT write on a wall instead of communicating privately

The driving force behind the success of Facebook is… vanity. People love the idea that others are watching what they’re doing. Tell me this: for what reason would you invite someone to a private party by writing on their wall, other than to show off to all the people on their friends list who you don’t want to come? It just makes you look like a tit, so don’t do it.
        5) DO NOT post anything on Facebook while you are drunk.

Have a little common sense. If you go out for a big one on Friday night, come back and sleep. Because when I call in sick at 9am, the last thing I want my boss to say is: “I’ve seen the pictures of you crawling in the gutter last night. I’m not amused or impressed, now get to work!”
        6) DO NOT Upload photos to Facebook and deleting originals

Uploading photos to Facebook can be a very handy way of sharing your holiday snaps. But for the love of God, don’t lose your originals. Facebook is terrible at compressing and resizing images – it turns your 14MP panoramas into 14KB monstrosities. Facebook is not a suitable repository to store your precious photos!
        7) DO NOT have your relationship status set to “It’s complicated”.

If your relationship is so f*** complicated that you have to identify it as such on your Facebook profile, get the hell off Facebook and go fix your relationship.
        8) DO NOT add your boss to your Facebook.

        The below picture explains reason.

How to hide Facebook updates from one person

        Tuesday, 13 December 2011 0 comments

Most of you might have been to the situation where you want to hide Facebook updates from one (or more) person without removing from friend list. You can follow the below simple steps to achieve this. I recommend you take a look at ALL of your privacy settings to make sure they are set to exactly how you want them to be.

Step 1: Click on the “Account” in the upper right corner and from there click on “Privacy Settings”.

Step 2: Click on the “Custom Settings” on the lower left of your screen.

Step 3: Click on the button to the right of “Posts by Me” section and a drop down menu will appear. From the drop down, click on “Customize”/Custom Edit.

Step 4: Now a popup window is showing and from this, you can select who should see your posts/updates and who should not see it. For the people you’d like to HIDE your updates from, you’ll click in the text box and start typing their name. Facebook should pull in their full name as you start typing and you’ll want to click on the them when they pop up. Once you click on their name, Facebook will add them to your list of people you want to HIDE your updates from. You can always come back and edit this later if you need.

Note : This will not hide your previous posts. This setting is applicable only for the new posts/updates.

“I can’t believe you’re in this vid” And “Why are you tagged in this video” Spam On Facebook: Reported And Shown In Action

Remember the time when the revolving/rotating images spam was started on Facebook, how it spread like forest fire and how finally, thanks to a reader of my blog, I was able to write a post on how to get rid of it? Apparently, it doesn’t seem my like my Open Letter To Facebook made a dent in any way because there is a new spam making rounds on Facebook. Pardon me if this is a bad pun but the rounds it is making are pretty big.

It starts with a notification which tells you about a new post on your wall. Quite naturally, the user then goes on to his wall and sees the following picture there (refer to first image of post). The first impression the user gets of the link is that it is a YouTube video and he goes ahead and clicks the button-which-looks-like-a-play-button since the video supposedly involves her; as made clear by the following statements that the links have been seen sporting:

WTF!! why are you in this video
OMG why are you tagged in this video
ROTFL what are you doing in this video
yo why are you tagged in this video
WTF!! I can’t believe you’re in this vid
OMG I can’t believe you’re in this vid
ROTFL I can’t believe you’re in this vid
yo I can’t believe you’re in this vid

As the user quite unknowingly (and yet with her own hands) follows the steps that the video asks the her to take the browser suddenly hangs for a second or two. Why that? Well, because a.) The user is a douchebag and b.) It wasn’t really a video, it was just a badly copied image of some online video streamer, done with the aim of spreading spam in which they (un)fortunately succeeded. Way to go fellas!

I don’t really blame the creator of the spam this time, rather, I blame the users who go through so many steps just to watch a video in which they are supposedly there. Insecurity much? Didn’t you doubt about the veracity of the video even once while going through all those tedious steps?
        What are these steps?

For the benefit of my readers (and my own enlightenment) I decided to click on that link to see how it works. I was surprised to find out that just clicking on the play button is not enough to start the script behind the video. To make it work you need to be a proper douchebag. Not the everyday douchebag. The everyday douchebag just doesn’t cut it.
Step 1: You see the post.

You get the notification and click it. You are on your wall now, looking at the spam, right in the eye.

Step 2: You get ready to click the big play button (Why in the Devil’s name?!)

An average user would get curious and probably after seeing his name above the video, insecure as well but I was just b plain bored for I knew what was going to happen.

Step 3: And you click it! BAM!
WOAH! Nothing happened! Well ofcourse, clciking the play button wasn’t supposed to do anything. The main step comes after clicking it. A JavaScript (you were expecting this, right?) has been copied onto your computer’s clipboard and now all you need to do is go to your address bar, paste the script there and boom! press Enter. The video still didn’t play? Awwww… But hey wait, congrats. The same YouTube link that you tried opening has now been posted on several of your friends wall. The number being between 30 and 5000.

        The Solution

The solution is simple. Stop being a douchebag.

On a more serious note: There is no solution for this except that you go to each of your friend’s wall and remove that post and/or apologise for your doings because seeing from people’s reaction’s about this spam, I’m sorry to say but you are in trouble. Or you could always follow the following advice:

        Stop being a douchebag.

The spam does a lot of damage since there is no real cap on the number of friend’s on who’s wall the video will be posted. Here is the short at the amount of spam it has spread on my newsfffeed.

Hack Proof Your Facebook Account Now!

“Oh Crap! My facebook account has been hacked! Oh, the Caps Lock was on..:P”

I hear you saying been there, done that. But it is just a matter of time your Facebook account is hacked. I am not saying that it is happening, my point is that it might just happen and you won’t be able to do anything about it then. Though there are two things that you can do right now. First, keep a strong password. Something like ABC!#%&)@$^*). Remembering it is.n’t difficult because it has a pattern ABC in Caps and then press down shift and press 13579 followed by 24680 (keeping shift pressed). So your password actually turns out to be ABC1357924680, first odd numbers and then even. Simple. Nice, right?

Another thing that you can do is use a feature which has been on Facebook for the past couple of months. The feature that I like to call the MouseTrap. It is not anything like a mouse trap (literally and non-literally both). It tells you when someone logged into your Facebook account by sending a mail at the time of log-in (and a computer name which it asks to the user who logged-in) and sending a message to your mobile (if opted for). It isn’t actually what you would call a firewall or not even something that can make your account hack proof but it is still a feature which adds another security layer. (*firewall?, seriously? Pulkit you’ve gone mad!*

To enable this feature click here https://register.facebook.com/editaccount.php?ref=mb&drop . Make sure are logged into your Facebook account before clicking the link.

Now scroll down to the 2nd last option,Account Security, and click change.

The page shows you the places (computer name, not address) where you are currently logged in. It gives you the option of ending any session remotely. The page also shows you the last 20 or so Computer names that logged into your account. To enable login Notifications click On under login notification and under Notification Method choose mobile also if you want to (I suggest yes).

Now anytime you or anyone logs-in to your account from a computer on which your account is not usually used, Facebook will send you an E-mail and an SMS (if you want, that is) right away so that you can either change your password or end the session of the hacker or take the necessary action

        Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook profile ‘HACKED’

        Monday, 12 December 2011 0 comments

A number of Mark Zuckerberg’s private photos have been leaked by a web expert who exposed a flaw in Facebook’s security settings.

Here is his profile on Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/zuck

Zuckerberg, founder of the social networking site, had his personal profile ‘hacked’ after it was revealed that new settings intended to prevent inappropriate pictures could be exploited. By reporting images that contained “nudity or pornography”, users could access private photos which could then be seen full size and downloaded.

The technique was used to obtain previously unseen pictures of Facebook CEO Zuckerberg, who is seen holding aloft a chicken, as well as several with partner Priscilla Chan. He is also seen with US president Barack Obama and a number of friends at various engagements.

"The bug was a result of one of our most recent code pushes and was live for a limited period of time,” said a Facebook spokesman. “Upon discovering the bug, we immediately disabled the system, and will only return functionality once we can confirm the bug has been fixed.”

“The privacy of our user's data is a top priority for us, and we invest lots of resources in protecting our site and the people who use it,” he added.

The error is a blow for the social network which has come under fire for the information it collects from its users. Facebook has 800 million active users across the globe and is expected to float on the stock exchange next year with an estimated $100 billion (£64 billion) value. Mark Zuckerberg has amassed a personal fortune of $17.5 billion (11.2 billion) after setting up the site in 2004.
