How to hide Facebook updates from one person

Tuesday, 13 December 2011

Most of you might have been to the situation where you want to hide Facebook updates from one (or more) person without removing from friend list. You can follow the below simple steps to achieve this. I recommend you take a look at ALL of your privacy settings to make sure they are set to exactly how you want them to be.

Step 1: Click on the “Account” in the upper right corner and from there click on “Privacy Settings”.

Step 2: Click on the “Custom Settings” on the lower left of your screen.

Step 3: Click on the button to the right of “Posts by Me” section and a drop down menu will appear. From the drop down, click on “Customize”/Custom Edit.

Step 4: Now a popup window is showing and from this, you can select who should see your posts/updates and who should not see it. For the people you’d like to HIDE your updates from, you’ll click in the text box and start typing their name. Facebook should pull in their full name as you start typing and you’ll want to click on the them when they pop up. Once you click on their name, Facebook will add them to your list of people you want to HIDE your updates from. You can always come back and edit this later if you need.

Note : This will not hide your previous posts. This setting is applicable only for the new posts/updates.
